Dr John Dickson
John is founding Director of the Centre for Public Christianity. After a career as a singer-songwriter he turned to study, completing a degree in theology and a doctorate in ancient history, specializing in the birth of Christianity. An ordained Anglican minister he is also a Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Ancient History, Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia), where he teaches a course on Christian origins. He has hosted two nationally televised documentaries (The Christ Files and Life of Jesus), authored over a dozen books and is a busy public speaker.
Simon Smart
Simon is a Director of the Centre for Public Christianity. A former English and History teacher Simon has a Masters in Christian Studies from Regent College, Canada. He has years of experience writing and editing both academic curricula and popular books. He is the author of Bright Lights Dark Nights - the enduring faith of 13 remarkable Australians and was the controlling editor of A Spectator’s Guide to World Views.
Allan Dowthwaite
Allan is Chief Executive and Media Director of the Centre for Public Christianity. With over 20 years experience in both broadcast and digital media production, Allan has incrasingly focused on the management side of the communication business since graduating from Sydney's Macquarie Graduate School of Management in 2004.
Dr Justine Toh
Justine is Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Public Christianity. After working as a researcher and presenter with both Reuters Australia and Fairfax Digital Media, Justine completed her doctorate in Cultural Studies at Sydney's Macquarie University in 2009. With a special interest in the intersection of Christianity and popular culture, Justine's main focus is producing content for the CPX website and assisting the Directors with research and communications projects.
Vaughan Olliffe
Vaughan is the Centre for Public Christianity's Business Manager. With years of experience managing small businesses, his focus at the Centre is on administration, event planning and website operations.
Hugh Clark
Hugh is the Centre for Public Christianity’s media producer. He is responsible for the filming and editing of studio interviews and pieces to camera along with the CPX podcast.
Jenny Glen Jenny volunteers at CPX two days a week, assisting Vaughan in the day-to-day operations of the office.
David Morris David volunteers at CPX three days a week marketing our resources. He has a particular focus on working with churches to organise and run outreach events using the Life of Jesus documentary.
CPX Fellows CPX has a network of scholars who contribute to our work through writing and public speaking.
